Tony Hawk's Son Riley Fronts Brutal Local Band Warish

Riley Hawk is the frontman of a pretty brutal Oceanside-based band called Warish

When you're the son of the most famous skateboarder in the world, it's kind of hard to step outside of that lanky, bird-like shadow.

Although a professional skateboarder himself, Riley Hawk, the 26-year-old son of Tony Hawk, has opted to diversify his talents instead of banking on four wheels.

According to a recent Consequence of Sound article, Riley is the frontman of a sludge-punk band called Warish, who will be releasing their first EP on Feb. 1, 2019, via Riding Easy Records.

Brooklyn Vegan has offered us a taste of what's to come by premiering the lead single from the band's self-titled debut EP.

Considering the Hawks are from San Diego and currently living in Encinitas and Oceanside, we're crossing our fingers that Warish play some local shows in support of the new music.

You can listen to "Fight" here, and pre-order Warish's new EP on their Bandcamp page.
